Our client is a foreign invested company with meter production business in China. The client is one of the leading developers and manufacturers in the energy metering business. Their brand is reputed to be the symbol of high-precision metering.

Business Need

Concentrator is an important part of centralized meter reading system. As the core of the system, concentrator connects console management computer and slave terminals or meters. It is responsible for data reading, collecting, storing and the management of uplink and downlink communication channels.

Before this system is developed, to determine an installation site, client needs to pick dozens or hundreds of sites to tune up the concentrator. After that, client needs to analyze the tuning results manually to pick the installation site. The process consumes long time and the final installation site may not be appropriate.

Our concentrator installation site selection system is used to analyze a series of testing data user manually collected in different sites and choose installation sites automatically. The system will calculate the coverage range of a concentrator at every test site and pick out the minimum sites required for the concentrator to cover the maximum range of meter signals. In the meantime, the system can compare the data between the actual installation sites and the candidate installation sites. The system provides visual diagrams for all functions. Besides the core decision support function, the system provides many other humanization features such as data automatic download from data collectors and data convention between M-Bus format and Excel format.
